One thing about eating a plant based diet is that there are always lots of nuts, seeds and dried fruits in the cupboard. Nuts are a great addition to any diet. Walnuts for instance are high in Omega 3’s, and all nuts have no trans fats or cholesterol and are a source of protein. When you’re busy working or being active on weekends here’s a great snack to keep you going. Just take a cup of each of the nuts, seeds and dried fruits that you have on hand from past recipes, add some chocolate chips or shredded coconut, mix it all together in a mason jar and voila a totally awesome and healthy snack. This particular incarnation has walnuts, raw cashews, pumpkin seeds, raisins and chocolate chips. You make this your own without any hassle or trips to the grocery store. You can see which nuts and seeds pack the most punch here.
