2019 was a long spring in Eastern Ontario. After the flood of 2017 people thought the whole 100 year flood had come and gone but as the water rose two years later we realized that wasn’t the case. The club where we keep the boat sits at the water’s edge and was in danger of flooding. Crews of volunteers came out to fill sand bags and in the end crisis was averted. The boat yard was closed as a result so the sailing season got off to a slow start. When the yard finally opened up we greased the boat and tossed it in so as not to lose an extra second. In the end it all worked out and despite the late start it was an epic summer on the water.
